2ps of Hetalia are the opposites of canon Hetalia characters, usually leaning on the evil side instead of happy and cheery. They can have a happy/cheery personality, but don't be fooled. 2ps look like their canons, but in different ways. If one character has scruff, their 2p might have none or a full beard. Some 2ps keep the same characteristics as their counterparts. Like their hair, for example. Clothing may vary, though. Instead of their uniforms, some wear something their canons would never wear or something that would actually be in their canon's wardrobe. It may get confusing, but always remember the bottom line:  they are the opposites, no matter what they wear or look like.

[2p!Canada] Most definitely not like his canon, Matthew is not the greatest person on earth. He comes off as mean, rude, inconsiderate, and somewhat lackadaisical. He prefers being called Matt instead of Matthew, being that they both share the same name. But he knows his canon is called Mattie most of the time by his friends and family. Like most other 2ps, they hate it when someone calls them their canon's country. But Matt doesn't care. Like mentioned before, he prefers being called Matt, but he won't flip a lid if someone accidentally calls him "Canada." But, if it's done purposely just to get under nails, Matt isn't shy about cursing and using his fists. And yes, he does carry a hockey stick around, but only uses it if someone really makes him mad to the point where all he can see is red.

Upon first meeting him, he'll seem like he doesn't care. In which, most of the time, it's true. But, if he likes you, he'll hold a conversation. If he doesn't, there will more likely be cursing and insults. Matt's humor itself is rude. For example, if a girl is wearing a beautiful yet poofy dress, he might say something along the lines of "Is that a petticoat under there or is the circus still in town?" But, don't take it to heart. Most of the time, it's to humor himself and some occasional others who might like it. The other insults will be much more sensitive. So as a suggestion, don't get under Matt's nails.

Matt has often thought of himself as a messed-up guy. He looks at his canon and thinks of him as his perfect other. He might seem down on himself, but he'll only dismiss it as crude modesty. He's not suicidal, but he gets to thinking why he is the way he is. For one thing, he smokes, unlike his canon. He knows it's not healthy and yet he does it anyway. Little things like that is what usually keeps him occupied when he's alone. And unlike his canon, he does not have a polar bear to keep him company. It's not like he doesn't like him, he likes his company truthfully. But he doesn't like having to take care of something. The only person he takes care of is himself.

Headcanons
-He still likes pancakes and ice cream, like his canon.
-He wears the bandage on his chest because he covers a scar he got while fighting with his brother.
-And because of that, he doesn't like it when people ask about it when they catch a glimpse of it.
-When in the right mood, he can be mischievous.
